Introduction:
Join Mrs. Wright's online art classroom to enhance knowledge and understanding of art and how it is inspired. Participate in discussions, extend learning of art concepts and skills, be creative, make art, and be inspired! Students will explore the principles and elements of design that are part of all works of art. This will help to build quality works of art with many expressive qualities as well as an art vocabulary. Students will explore their own creativity and different types of artistic media. Students will discover the influences on art by looking at specific artists, or groups.
In order to participate in this course you must have access to a computer, internet connection, Microsoft Office, various art supplies such as paint, or pastels, and a camera to photograph and upload your work. Each unit of study is worth 100 points. You may view the rubric to see how many points each assignment worth. <scoring rubric>
Unit #1: Color Theory- Color is an element of design. Every Work of art contains color. The colors some times stir up excitement (both positive and negative). Colors can express emotions and feelings too. In the art room we will talk about colors very much so it is important to know how they are made and what some colors suggest in art.
